Trying new things is yucky. Don't invest $3 in something that might be yucky. Stick to buying the same brand of frozen chicken tenders.

do you still add salt when you use MSG? or does it replace salt?

>> No.15617568

>>15617187
It's a kind of sodium that can be perceived by the tongue different from regular salts/sodiums and it produces a flavor often referred to as 'umami' which really just refers to savory/rich, implying the food has a lot of depth to it.

MSG is great just be careful its easy to use too much and that can have negative effects on your taste buds

I do, usually in form of soy sauce. But it should be stated the other way around. I add salt (or soy sauce) but I still add some MSG.

MSG is not salty. It is very easy to use too much MSG.

for £1 - £5 you might as well just try it.

ignore the fags that don't understand it and the fags that say its the "king of flavor"

It's a meme ingredient but you should also buy it.

>> No.15619000

Get it. Just don't use it alone.
I found that using it alone acts like a less salty tasting salt, but if you mix it with fatty greasy foods, it works wonders.
Like adding it to soup alone does nothing, but adding it with butter would enhance any spices you add.

>> No.15619119

What's the ratio of using this stuff with salt/soy?

>> No.15619656

>>15616849
I make custom salt-blends on a regular basis.
Today I made a mixture using 1 tbsp of:
-Habanero powder
-Taijin
-MSG
-Citrus salt

It is a meme ingredient, but it can also be fun. If you cook for pleasure and are adventurous, you might be the kind of person to find uses for it.

Read that back to yourself aloud, then tell your therapist that challenging your less-than-sane thoughts is working.
