Anyone know anything about flat top grills?
Why are some only 3 - $500 and others skyrocket to 2 and 3k?
I wanna make hibachi shit and maybe some decent burgers but I also don't want to waste my money

There are so many deals on restaurant equipment now, you can get a top line name brand griddle, new or used for pennies on the dollar.

There is no excuse today to be cooking on anything less than a Wolf gas range with side griddle.

I have a small Blackstone Griddle that is fueled by the little green propane tanks. I use it for stuff like tailgates, and like it a lot. It was around $100 at Wal-Mart.

I've read that basically it comes down to the blackstone or camp chef are the best ones.
anything higher grade than that like the 'wolf' ones >>15613055 mentioned are massive restaurant grade kitchen equipment that you wouldn't be able to fit anywhere that's not a restaurant kitchen.

The Blackstone definitely gets the job done, but it's not super life-changing or anything. Only one burner on mine. It probably would have been a better investment to get a real grill and put a griddle on it like >>15613300 suggested, but I liked the idea of a dedicated griddle at the time, and don't regret my purchase. For a hundred bucks, I'm happy.

I own a blackstone, the 4 burner one. It's pretty inexpensive and it's perfect for what you're describing. Just go get the blackstone or the camp chef.

or if you're not a fussy homo, you could get a charcoal grill and put a griddle on top of it

charcoal grills are generally more expensive than one of those blackstones.
a good grill can be like $800 + another $100 for a decent sized griddle.

Lies. You can get a perfectly good charcoal grill in the $200-$300 price range. And unlike you're stupid Blackstone, you can actually get real grill favor and char marks for meat that needs it. When you need a flat-top surface, you put your cheap cast-iron griddle on top. Getting your stupid fucking Blackstone pigeon-holds you into one kind of cooking outdoors. You may as well get one that plugs into the wall and stay inside, because you're a pussy who doesn't know how to grill.
