How do you feel about reusable metal canister packaging for ice creams being introduced by Nestle and General Mills?

>> No.15597242

Indifferent.

would be dope as long as they don't cost more.
we reuse yogurt and margarine containers so metal ones would be cool.

It costs more, but they will give you back the deposit when you return the canister. If you return the canister, then the ice cream becomes cheaper than if you bought the regular coated paper packaging.

>> No.15597259

I don't get it. If they don't have some program where you can go to the store and get the metal canister refilled with ice cream at a reduced cost or something then what's the point of this? Is it really more efficient or green or whatever to make fucking metal canisters than paper ones?

They should do this with everything. I’m on board.

>> No.15597322

>>15597256
yeah that works.

they should tax wasteful packaging so all manufactures do this

>> No.15597334

ffs just use recycled paper.

don't care.

Coated paper can't be recycled further, and coating won't decompose for hundreds of years in the garbage dump.

Yeah, they can fuck off.

It becomes less of a problem if everyone shifts to Amazon Fresh-type model where the truck comes back later to pick up the grocery delivery bins anyways.

>> No.15597391

Pretty good even if i dont reuse them specifically for food

Their icecream is the best and metal canisters seem useful. I approve

what's the point of that you don't recycle the fucking thing in one way or another?
Sure, you could use a few of them to store stuff, but who needs so many metal canisters after a certain point.

I don't because I make my own ice cream.

Yes. I’m on board for a gigantic disposable tax. Get Greta on it after she updates her onlyfans

Depends on how easy it is for local trash companies to recycle metal. The thing is if your trying to go green you have to think about the whole process and life cycle of the product container. For instance are there any toxic by products produced by making the metal canisters? How difficult and renewable is it to get the raw metal material, ect. Another example: I use disposables grass straws to drink my coffee to cut down on plastic, but I sadly have no idea how "green" it is to produce the straws.

I just wish the government would make it worth these big corps time and money to figure out how to ho truly green and get rid of the plastic bullshit. The smaller green hippie companies aren't going to make as big of a dent in the environment like the big corps going green will.
