Yeah. I live in military barracks so no oven.
It works almost as well as a real oven.

I preheat to a hotter temp and turn it down a little bit below what a recipe calls for.

Got some choice ribeye for $5.99 a pound, made some fondant potatoes with it. Reverse sear made it come out great. I’m assuming the pie is yours op, looks yummy but I would’ve put a little egg wash on top for a shiny crust

On the BBQ. Heat up the hotplate, pour some oil on it and spread it with the flipper, tomatoes on face down, then the bacon. When the bacon was done I'd make room for the eggs and crack them sunny side up. Hood down for duration of cooking. By the time eggs are done the tomatoes are perfect.

I'm trying out an idea I had based on some Chicken and Mushroom dish I bought at a Polish deli.

How can I best use whole or slightly broken up black peppercorns in this stew? Won't they be too hard to eat and give it an 'uneven' seasoning compared to ground pepper?

Cover them in cling film or put them in a zip lock bag and bash the shit out of them with something. Now you have cracked pepper. Season away.

>> No.15595965

>>15595961
Well I usually do it with a pestle and mortar but thanks, bro. Anyway, I'll add ground but should I do some fancy shit and add whole peppercorns as well, is that a thing or should I fuck off?

>> No.15595978

>>15595965
A lot of slow cooker recipes call for whole peppercorns but that's usually to flavour the liquid you're using to cook the meat in. If you don't mind getting a whole peppercorn in your mouth while you're chewing then go for it. Otherwise just use some coarse cracked pepper.
