Now that the dust has finally settled, what is the general consensus on sliced bread?

Buy it fresh or fuck off, store bought bread isn't even baked properly. It's moist, it doesn't go stale it rots; that aint bread dawg it's sloppa.

If you squish it it turns back into dough. Just buy it fresh, it's usually around about the exact same price from the supermarket fresh bread aisle.

>> No.15547197

pre-sliced bread steals away the ability to physically break bread with your friends, family and fellow Christians. by coming pre-sliced you've removed the physical act of sharing in the body of Christ yourself, giving precedence instead to the cold, calculated, equitable geometry of the factory line to determine for you the most efficient method of dividing the Body. Even for the unbelievers, the joyous sensation of ripping off a piece of bread and handing it to one they love in a gesture of comraderie or good will is replaced by a soulless toss of a limp square of sponge. That the pre-sliced bread shape has come to define the modern understanding of bread is a testament to the propagandizing power at once pushing the imagery and that bitter slogan: "the best thing since sliced bread"

While I confess this is hardly the general consensus, I pray one day it would be. Too many have lost the joy of life, and as bread has been with us in physical and metaphysical form since the beginning of our civilization, such a loss should be mourned - not welcomed.

We used to have a bakery across the street and down a half block from my office.

I was ecstatic when they opened but then found out that the only things they would bake were cookies and cake.

No bread at all.

So I never bought a single thing from them.

>Now that the dust has finally settled, what is the general consensus on sliced bread?

That you should be held down, and an entire loaf of bread be pushed up your ass a piece at a time with a pointed stick, to be followed by a jar of strawberry jam, and a jar of peanut butter, using a sausage stuffer, after which a large butt plug be inserted to keep things where they are. That then you be made to sit on a wooden stool, each hour being required to drink a glass of milk until you sicken and die.

Why has this consensus been reached? You may will ask. It has been reached because you meme-post stupid threads like this constantly, causing other threads to perish.

This is really funny, in my country you only buy this if you are really desperate, like if you live in suburbia and you don't want to go to the city only to buy bread, and if you are in the city you don't have to worry about this basically never, since there are many 0/24 bakeries so you can buy relatively fresh bread even in 4am . Even many supermarkets now started having bakeries in them so they make fresh bread there on the spot.

tl;dr
sliced bread is shit and only a subhuman would accept it
