We cook whatever we want whenever we want because we don't care about cultural dictums on cooking, as for stote bought products look in the frozen section, mostly you'll find very cheap pies both in terms of quality and price because we are from peasant stock and like to save money
I don't know if they're still a dollar even, but Banquet mini pot pies are a good cheap snack or small meal.

Beans on toast is actually quite good, but they're wrong to pretend it's healthier than the average processed carb heavy US fare. If they added some ham or scrambled eggs on the plate, beans on toast would be a great way to round out the meal.
Toast sandwich is indefensible however, even our Depression era food was better than that.

Meat pie, beef hash, a nice hard shell chewy bread roll, a proper wedge of good cheddar, a few rashers, a strong broth soup such as beef and tomato with corn and beans in, mash and peas, a tall glass of milk.

Texas alone is larger than almost any European nation, and the country as a whole has everything from snowcapped mountains to barren deserts to deep swamps. While there are a few cultural similarities among them, that's about where it ends especially in regards to diet. In my native state you can get fresh catfish literally anywhere, which isn't a thing at all in places like Wisconsin. This. Pot pies are INSANELY popular in the midwest, and when I lived on the east coast were popular there too. Does cottage pie count? Cornish pastries used to be really popular in the central US but seem to have declined.

Of course you can't account for individual taste. It's hard to get ahold of kidneys for some reason, but I make mushroom and kidney pie when I can. I think my brother does something weird with cheese and nuts, I don't know.
