We're not obsessed with it, it's just a common side dish like mashed potatoes. Boring isn't necessarily bad and it's easy and cheap to make and is delicious because it's just fat and salt. A lot of people also have some kind of warm feelings from childhood associated with it.

Made for kids other day. 1 box craft, extra pasta. 3 hotdogs, let daughter 5 cut them with real knife for first time. Chopped up pickled jalapenos. Sauteed hotdogs and added half a can of corn. Added about half a cup of milk and 1/4.lb gouda cheese and melted together with pack of fake cheese. Mixed everything together kids gobbled it up with no leftovers. Maybe 5 dollars total for 4 people (2kids). Suck on that wolfpit!
