Lose the lemon and just get olive oil.
Deenz are good, but kippers > mackerel > deenz

That's a good brand, but don't get water packed ones. Get lightly smoked in extra virgin olive oil. Better sardines taste fishy and oily in a nice way, like a premium canned tuna. Bottom shelf/water packed sardines can get really pungent and have almost a rancid fishy taste like really bad canned tuna. Most people who like sardines a lot go for olive oil packed, with the skin and bones (all of which are edible).

Pic related is a good place to start.

Buy a taster at the supermarket.
A $4 can to try before you order the $40 case isn't a bad deal, especially if you're the kind of person who asks anonymous strangers if you'll like boneless skinless water deenz because you like chicken of the sea tuna.

Get the "bela" brand on whole foods. They are portuguese and taste way better than "wild planet". Trust me I tried them both.

You can get them on olive oil they taste way better

If you like tuna, Wild Planet is probably the best choice. They have a tuna-like texture compared to something like King Oscar which is a little mushy.

I bought the olive oil one and they're okay. I like brisling better but I have 10 cans of this left. The wild planet tuna is amazing though.

I've been thinking about something that I'm not sure if I dreamt up or not.

It was a /ck/ thread ages ago where someone called everybody buying shitty canned tuna a retard and posted what he said was miles better, whole tuna pieces in olive oil or some shit. I've never been able to find this, some canned stuff looks almost like pieces of actual fish meat, but it's still pressed and kinda shitty.

Does actual preserved tuna meat exist?

I tried eating plain sardines packed in oil on crackers and it's just not my thing. Too fishy. Maybe the ones packed in mustard are more tolerable. I even tried adding mustard on top and it was still too fishy.

Try the tomato sauce.
Still fishy, but it pairs well with the tomato.
Deenz in mustard is good, yes, but deenz in tomato sauce is more approachable.

As much shit as we give to Beach Cliff, it is pretty mild in flavor.

Skinless and boneless is trash sure, but in water or brine is the best way to get them. Olive oil ruins the omega3:omega6 ratio. Tastes good sure, but less healthful. In hot sauce, mustard, tomato sauce, and lemon sauce are all fine too, just avoid oil.

If you have a costco membership, Season is good. King Oscar is the gold standard. Chicken of the Sea is okay in hot sauce, and probably the cheapest. Beach Cliff, Crown Prince, and Brunswick are alright. Can't remember the brand, but with a red label and thin aluminum lid were a bit meaty. Not sure why you'd go with boneless skinless, but then again I rarely peel my potatoes either.

Shoutout to mackeral, herring, kippers, sprats, and various smoked shellfish. A quick sear with the oil it's packed in, some chili, eggs, and green onions over rice is always a favorite.

I'm a certified fatass and really put a lot of effort in to only enjoying tasty food. Wild Planet tastes like literal dog shit and so far it's the only niche brand of sardines I've seen shilled that I would never buy again after trying it twice. Polar sardines are cheaper, higher quality, and tastier. Sure they come smoked and in olive oil, but I'm not eating sardines with the sole purpose of minmaxxing my omega 3 intake, they're just tasty and good for me so I eat them.
