I'll say. Here, WT101 is $19, and the $25-30 pick is Old Grand-Dad 114.
Also, Knob Creek is available for under $30 in a lot of locations and is decidedly an upgrade over WT101.
I love WT101, though.

Old Forester 86 or 100 Proof, Wild Turkey 101, Old Granddad Bottle in Bond, Old Granddad 114, Elijah Craig Small Batch are all solid bourbons under $30. Notice all different distilleries, so no shilling just good bourbons.

They tend to ruin any whisky they purchase. It's all too common for them to purchase a whisky, water it down, use inferior barrels than before, chill filter it and/or color it.
They have also literally and quite transparently marketed heavily here for a long time now, and have caught quite a few bans for it.

nah, Jack No7 has that funky banana bread flavor, more so than other Brown Forman whiskies. Gentleman Jack is much better, but again... banana flavor. Their single barrels are nice, but overpriced.

Wild Turkey is vanilla frosting, cinnamon, rye, and oak. Austin Nichols uses heavy char and the base is aged 6-10 years. I no shit recommend it for anyone new to bourbon except the poorest of poorfags where I would say Evan Williams BiB.

Another clue people are taking too big of sips is when they say they don't like cask strength whiskies because it burns too much. These people are almost certainly taking too big of sips.

Costco is based for whiskey, I can occasionally get Buffalo Trace for $25, and Lagavulin for $77, $55 on sale, and earlier this year I even nabbed a Blanton's for $55. Got this Kirkland Anejo for the hell of it (NOM 1173). If you've had Casamigos Anejo, then you've basically had this, it's the same profile. Whether that's a good thing or not... on the one hand it goes down extremely easy with no bite of any kind. On the other hand it's a bit too sweet and has aromas and flavors that aren't natural at all. Coming back to the empty glass the next day it smells like marshmallows, an almost sickly sweet smell. I'm assuming this is diffuser juice with potent additives.
