Why? Tipping is literally retarded bribery. The Stockholm Syndrome bullshit that Americans have with tipping is laughable. You don't have to tip. It's not a legal requirement. You only have to pay the bill for service. That's it. End of story.

The waiter/waitress is absolutely, 100% NOT entitled to my hard earned money for the sole reason other than society merely expects me to give it and for the fact that she did what was required for her to provide me service. If they want the tip, they are welcome to put a gratuity charge on my bill, but guess what? They never do, because nobody would go if it was suddenly required. But people insist on playing this song and dance to pretend like its "optional".

Again, since it is not on the bill, I am not obligated legally to pay for that, so guess what? I have never tipped a single dime since I was twenty five years old. I realized how stupid and ridiculous it is to subsidize somebody else's wages, especially given that the work is 100% unskilled work that earns the worker low pay, below what we consider "minimum wage" (yet another outdated business practice that should be abolished). Every server tells you how hard they work. Lies, all of it. Literally anybody on the street can walk into a restaurant, get a job as a waiter/waitress, and start slinging food and drink. It is work that a child, a ten year old could do with some training.

Remember that those people agreed to a contract of employment knowing fucking well that their wage is below market rate. I couldn't care less that they did that, and I will spare no pity for them.

And the notion I'm poor? I make 140K per year. I'll happily pay a gratuity charge, increased food prices, or whatever. It's going out, it costs more. I've accepted that. But I don't give money away to anybody. And trust me, I thoroughly enjoy getting servers fired. It's happened three times already when they got verbal with me.
