i think his streamlined recipes are valuable, i could have never thought about making demi-glace (probably not even as a rich man) because it's just so much work. but his instant demi-glace addresses these problems and allows even poor cooks like me to do some demi-glace at home. not all his recipes are perfect, his spanish omelette sucked and i can't be bothered with his brownie recipe (finnish style brownies are better anyways).

i also like the technical aspects of his videos, he doesn't do that annoying soy angle where he films his lower body, he focuses on the act of cooking. the soundmixing in his videos are very well done too, they cover the outside sounds really well which allows me to easily eat food while watching his vids. the way he speaks is also quite pleasant and it's nice to zone off on his videos, also the sponsor segments are well done too, most of the time i don't even want to skip them.

as a cherry on top of the cake his wife is ugly and kids are annoying which means i don't feel particularly threatened by his relationship nor social status.
