I got take out for dinner almost every day this week and need to make a change.
Gonna get ingredients for sandwiches later today.
So far I got turkey, romaine lettuce, tomato, and avocado.
I already have mayo, mustard, and onion on hand.

What secret ingredients out there should I get for making tasty, and healthy sandwiches?

Skip the avocado.
crack some fresh black pepper over the deli meat.

Speaking of cracking pepper. Are there any alternative to Peugeot pepper mills? Want to get a nice one, but don't like that antique look they come in.

Good suggestion. I used to put those on everything and got sick of em. But that was years ago. Think I should start adding them to my foods again.

Should I go basic and just get swiss?

Try a few, I usually get havarti with jalapeno or chipotle

Buy fresh chicken breast and poach it, if it's at all economically sensible. Fresh poached chicken breast is going to be miiiiiiles ahead of any packaged deli meat you can find.

A good relish or chutney will work wonders, too. Don't forget the salt.
