Ham is good as long as you don't slice it too thick. After a certain point, it sucks. You can go with a thicker cut if it's hot. I like it with pineapple while others in my family like it with a rasin sauce.

Not big on pork personally. Ham is okay though if a bit salty. Wife makes a brown sugar mustard glaze for Christmas thats pretty good.

A lot of these comics are developed by the focus group method, where they figure out what's "popular" and "marketable" then squish it all together and hope people like it. It's not even a matter of making sense or even trying to be funny. They literally just give the artist random cues like "hungry cat", "therapist", "giant robot", and leave him to try to thrown something together before the deadline.

made a thread about chicken biscuits the other day, and I was motivated to buy a Father's country ham by a Southernfag. It arrived yesterday. About 15 pounds divided into a hock for beans/greens, a shank for to bake, and slices for frying. Should I make beans or greens with the hock?

A really nostalgic sandwich for me was honey ham, miracle whip, on Wonderbread, though I haven't had that in probably 2 decades. Reminds me of going across the street to my friends house playing swords or water gun fights. Or N64 Goldeneye. Better times guys.

The last six years my parents local newspaper has been printing Heathcliff comics, and nothing is changed in the translation at all. My dad is in absolute stiches when reading them, and if I'm home for a visit he will hand be the newspaper to read the comic while laughing his ass off.
I've asked him several times what's so funny about it, and he just look at me like I'm mad, and say "don't you get it, anon?"
No I don't fucking get it. And every time he'll look at me like I'm weird, or comment on me lacking a sense of humour.
I'm 110% sure these comics contain some kind of subliminal message that only boomer brains can understand.
