My doctor put me on a gluten free diet because I had a terminal case of the shits (IBS) and it has helped immensely. I also feel like I have more energy, and I've lost like 20 lbs in the past few months because no bread and no beer. I also consume a lot less dairy since it doesn't go well with rice. Anyone else gluten free?

It's not the gluten, it's all the fucking pesticides in modern wheat.

That's plausible. Do they really overuse pesticides on wheat compared to other crops? Why doesn't rice make me sick?

They don't use glyphosate on rice.

Did some research, I know Roundup has been controversial of late, but glyphosate itself doesn't sound all that worrisome. I think it's more likely I just have a fucking gluten problem.

Gluten free is pretty easy now. Most restaurants have many options and you can get substitutes for about everything. It may seem sucky to not be able to eat the same stuff you ate before but give it a month. You will actually start feeling really good health wise. Just be careful because in the US gluten is added into some food, so check ingredients.

They make gluten free pasta and that might help you gain weight back if you find a brand you like.

t. Friend has been gluten free for a long time

Had the same problem. over half my bathroom visits were diarrhea until i cut barley and wheat. I can eat a shitton of beans and feel fine so it was most likely the gluten. been eating more eggs/milk/meat to make sure i get enough calories

I already do, it's very weird. I feel way more alert, motivated, etc just from the diet change. You're right about gluten free options being readily available, but I feel like a soy bitch asking for them, and they usually come with a price bump.

Do you have IBS, too? My doc said that IBS has a high correlation with gluten intolerance, seems he was right.

if that's the case then all plant matter is bad for you.
there is no plant without pesticides modern day.

My friend says that vaccines cause gluten intolerance and his doctor agrees with him. Have you gotten any recently?

It’s because gluten is bad for the body since we didn’t evolve to eat it. We eat way too much in the US

Yeah I’m not antivax but there is a direct link between vaccines and gluten intolerance (IBS, Celiac, etc.). I presented on it in my physiology class at uni and even cited the published papers research and everyone freaked out and started yelling at me like I was threatening to kill them. It was so bizzare

Lookup Kenny Honnas on youtube. The problem is not the food (although I agree our Western food is trash), the problem is our gut microbiome. I cured my IBS using the GAPS diet and while Kenny does something different it seems to give good results and is less restrictive.
