I was in line the other day and the restaurant was packed, dozens of cars in the drivethrough, literally. Employees going left and right with food but they were somehow so cheery about it and polite. It got me thinking, how the hell do they stay happy? They apparently don't make too high above minimum wage, it's no easier than working at any other fast food place, and you're constantly busy if you're in a bigger area. I'd be fucking miserable but every single time I've been to one the employees are at the very worst just fairly polite and typically cheerful while they work.

I heard a joke once that they're all given drugs and I dunno how far that might be from the truth. It's almost off-putting and unnatural.

Hey fucknut, maybe they’re happy because they START at $15/hr... to fucking fry chicken, type orders in an iPad, and hand bags of said chicken to customers. It’s an immensely easy job that pays very well comparatively. And since they pay more, they also hire better employees than every other QSR, as opposed to literally any warm body that walks in they’ll actually judge whether or not you’re a complete fuck, and if you are, you won’t get a job at CFA. Work 50hr/week at CFA and you’ll make just shy of $40,000 in a year in my state. Meanwhile I do back breaking manual labor for $18/hr, so I’m kinda cucked by CFA employees desu.

Shitty fast food places make only hire as many people as they need and make them do all the shifts, burning them out.

The samrt ones have a skeleton of full time staff; Managers and line managers, etc, and everyone else will do shift work. So like 4 on 3 off. A good percentage of those people will also be High School seniors and college age people on part time contracts.

It's the most efficient way to divide labour. A full time McJob is incredibly rare unless you're a senior member of staff.

I worked at Chick-fil-A for 4 years.

Basically they just treat you with respect. The managers actually acted proud about the product we were putting out. Which in turn helps the employees feel better about it too. It also helps that majority of their employees are high school and college age. Which = energy and motivation. Add in the fact that many of them were religious is a bonus to that. Yes, we made minimum wage ($7.25/hr) and actually worked a lot.

Put the founder actually was christian, and the reason he closed on sunday was so he and his co-workers could spend time with their families and go to church. They have just kept that going. This isn't something new. They don't do religious marketing. So you can't say it's "Christian themed" or anything like that.
