Is a potato salad sandwich a real thing? Has anyone here ever had one? Trying to settle a cooking argument here.

Anything can be a sandwitch just put it between two pieces of bread or roll it up like a shawarma or gyro or even on top of pastry like a pizza (open faced sandwitch)
Sambosas are sandwitches
Empanadas are sandwitches
Calzones are sandwitches
Dumplings are sandwitches

I grew up with Elder God-Tier cooking (Baptist potlucks) and Egg Salad sandwiches are definitely a thing and can be made to taste like they have crack in them. So potato salad ones are 100% something that people made the hop/skip/jump over to doing. The Starch and Starch combo is kinda odd though (potato AND wheat). At least it makes more sense when the potato is actually a part of the bread?

I feel complete and utter revulsion when potato and bread are in the same dish. The worst texture and feel out there next to thick tomato and pineapple with bread.

Okay but is this already an established sandwhich? or is it just weird?

Tuna salad sandwiches are real
Chicken salad sandwiches are real
Why should potato salad be any different?
>inb4 meat
Cranberry-walnut salad sandwiches are also a thing. Faggots love them.

I've eaten a pretty good number of egg sandwiches, too. I don't think I ever had one that I didn't like.

Who does this though?
If you're talking about pineapple on pizza, it's normally eaten with ham on the pizza, not just pineapple, tastelet.

You can make a sandwich out of anything but no, potato salad sandwiches are not "a thing". They arent common in any known cuisine, and youd likely struggle to ever find one for sale at a restaurant or in a grab and go cooler.

It's a sandwich, anything between two slices of bread is TECHNICALLY a sandwich.

Does that make it good? Does it make it an established sandwich that's well known and enjoyed like it's competitors?
Absolutely not.

Double starch is not only off-putting, but incredibly disrespectful to the pallette.

In conclusion, is this a real sandwich? TECHNICALLY. Should you eat it, associate with it, or even look at it? Absolutely not.

Anyone who enters my home with this culinary abomination can eat in the bathroom beside where I shit because that's where "potato sandwiches" belong. Down the watery poop whirlpool.

i used to have them on picnics all the time very common in my family

potato salad doesn't have a starchy taste or feel to it though it's mostly just mayo and sour cream and cajun

>> No.15395214

Huh I’ve though that was a normal thing. When ever finger sandwiches where involved we would have them. We’ve even make them for business meetings and no one reacts

I don't know if it's supposed to be a thing, but it's pretty good, especially with some green onions and ham.
