This comercial is based and all the haters either don't have it where they live or are too poor to use it.

What a luxury it is to partake in GrubHub, I always gloat on social media and all the poor people just SEETHE. Only true wealth knows the savory taste of a McChicken (contains:soy) from GrubHub.

Or maybe they don't see the point in overpaying for bog standard fast food because a fat cgi man tells them it's the new cool thing to do. I could eat nothing but food devliered mcdonalds from now until the day I die without earning a single dollar more. But why the hell would I even want to?

I’m wealthy and live in an upscale resort community between the 101 and the Pacific, I have the window open and am listening to the ocean right now while lying in my big comfy bed next to my beautiful wife, all inside a home I purchased with cash, no mortgage.

I’m literally better than you, and part of the reason why is I’m not spending $30 on a McDonalds meal.

so... is there like no competition for food delivery apps in the states? like here there are 5 different big apps that do that shit and if one charges too much for delivery people just stop using it, literally same thing for less

here delivery costs are nonexistent on the top apps except (((uber))) eats
the real issue is them taking a 30% cut of the restaurants money which fucks small businesses over

Small businesses can hire somebody to deliver, no? So it must be more economical for them to all use apps.

Ah yes a true luxury of the elite class. Junk food dropped by your door so you can keep playing games or watching television. C’mon, get real.

I earnestly cannot understand why people have such a reaction to this ad.
It's not "so-bad-it's-good." Not "so-bad-it's-terrible." Not creepy. No double-entendres. It's just bad. If you showed this to me next to other ads, it just wouldn't stand out.
Either advertising these days is so good that apparently this is enough to insult people on a cerebral level, or it is an extremely slow media week outside of politics and people are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I remember when GrubHub first came out and it was actually a convenient delivery app that didn't upcharge through the fucking nose. Now all the local restaurants raise their prices on GH as well as GH tacking on fees and service charges, it's fucking disgusting. I've gone back in time to simply calling restaurants and ordering directly from them these days.
Fuck middlemen give me cheap tendies.

It's a viral marketing campaign disguised as outrage, which has caused people to act outraged themselves, so that they keep talking about GrubHub. Any publicity is good publicity and all that.

Interesting theory, but what leads you to believe that this was intentionally led by GrubHub, rather than some randos taking it and running with it like, say, Big Chungus?

Depends on the area.
In a good sized city, you’ll have 4 or 5 to choose from.
In a smaller town, you might only have 1 simply because there isn’t enough demand to support more than 1.

In a smaller town you'll still have none.
Anyone who thinks a "small town" would have more than a few thousand people at most is probably from the burbs or the city, which all feed into each other.

I'm in a county seat in Indiana with a population of several thousand, and you still either have to get carryout or drive-through. No uber or lyft either.

To be fair, I said smallER town, as in “not the good-sized city I previously mentioned”.
It still varies anyway; my parents’ town is only 15k, no Uber/Lyft, but they do have a food delivery service and also instacart.
>probably from the burbs or the city
I live in a major downtown now, but grew up with well-water and a 20min drive to the closest gas station.
