I know how you feel, in a similar boat. She's not a picky eater at all, just not adventurous. So like I'll be cooking something and just kinda thinking out loud about what ingredients to use and she'll jump in and veto it in favor of something more traditional. What I've been doing is making a mental note of when this happens, then making the exact same dish again my way a week or two later. Not for an "I told you so" moment or anything, I really try to use it as an honest comparison between both dishes. We're both autists so finding a system like this where we can overanalyze one tiny facet of something works for us.
