The moment that this shit becomes cheaper than the real stuff, the entire meat industry will collapse faster than the Stock Market Crash of 1929. Prove me wrong.

Octopuses do not have any bones with the exception of their beaks. So if you are responsible and depraved enough to be literally the life support of your 8 limbed friend, you can debeak it like how you’d declaw a cat and then push your member into its feed chute.

You can then let it subsist on your baby batter.

The Octopus is smart. Very smart. It will learn that without its beak, it cannot feed on anything else but your human seed that has to be milked from you.

Every morning, you will feel your clothes slide off and a damp weight on your lower half.

The sensation creeps up on your body until most of the jiggly mass has enveloped the entire length. It will start pumping as fast as it can for it is hungry.

The animal gyrates its empty stomach and the folds of its brain rubbing on your glands, begging for nutrition.

You climax and give the marine creature’s breakfast. The pumping slows down but doesn’t stop to milk out the last few drops of its meal.

Looking into its yellow animal eyes, it looks back with a thousand-yard stare. This will be routine for all of its meals for the rest of its 3-5 years on this god forsaken planet.

it's not. most major fast food restaurants, let alone privately owned restaurants, carry beyond or impossible meat
these companies themselves are seeing faster growth than any agriculture industry
they're carried at almost every grocery store in the US
$BYND had a record breaking IPO that still has yet to be topped, breaking a record that had not been broke since 2007
Impossible Foods is worth even more than Beyond- estimated at a whopping 12.7 Billion USD.
Impossible is still private and they are putting 99% of profits into scaling their production, so it's only a matter of time that these products are 1/10th of the price of meat
Impossible, JUST, and Beyond are all backed by current agricultural mega-industriy like Tyson, McDonald's, and Sysco due to them being the front runners in making plant meat and/or labgrown meat

get with the times gramps, your CAFO will soon close and your extended family will lose all of their jobs. that's business.

Excess animal estrogen is rapidly removed from the body. Despite a affecting the same activation sites, phytoestrogens are removed much more slowly because they have a different overall structure which makes active removal difficult.
Further, the amount of estrogen found in a pound of beef is measured in nanograms. In contrast, the amount of phytoestrogen found in a pound of soybeans is measured in grams. Soy literally contains hundreds of millions times the amount hormones.

Lets pretend for even a second that this actually comes to pass. Great, you've made a cheaper version of ground beef, so what? Lets even pretend they can make it indistinguishable from ground beef in taste and texture unless you're really paying attention. Guess what? They already have, and for quite some time, too. Most super cheap processed "meat" products (read: fast food, 7-11 burritos) are already about 25% soy protein. You've made one of the cheapest forms of meat a bit cheaper. Well done. If anything, this means that these will drop to 90% soy protein, so that they can still say "made with real meat!" on the label for those who case, and "No meat!" on the label for those who care. Essentially the same product, slightly different packaging. This just follows the trend of the last few decades of steadily declining quality of meat in fast food and processed pre-made meals. Anyone who eats those in anything but the most desperate situations has it coming.

Good luck replacing any actual cuts of meat. If anything, this will drive down the demand for the cheap cuts of beef used to make ground beef, and thus, reduce the price of the whole cuts you can get at a butcher or supermarket. All you've done is made my grocery bill a little lighter, or made it so I can enjoy even more cheap cuts of slow-cooked beef. So, thanks, I guess.

How the hell are you gonna be a veganic homesteader? do you have any idea how important animals are for the fertility of crops? Or how difficult/impossible veganic/wfpb food sovereignty is in almost all climates? Anywhere with a winter, a dry climate, a rocky climate, a climate that is too hot or too cold or too wet, will not support the sheer volume and variety of human grade crops needed to completely sustain a person.

At best you could be vegetarian. But even then you have to deal with excess males.

And even on my tiny scale, I got a LOT of excess males. So many in fact, I may never have to support industrial poultry ever again.

Ask around. You will find that 99.999999999999999 percent of vegans don't grow anything aside from maybe herbs and MAYBE tomatoes and leafy greens in a pot. They won't even grow potatoes. Jeeez.

Fair enough. Not all animals receive supplements, but it’s more common than you might suspect. It’s often due to the fact that unsustainable farming practices have left the soil devoid of many of the nutrients (like B12) that animals typically get from grazing, so the farmers then supplement these missing nutrients to compensate.

That's just a flat out lie. In order for plant-based meat to have taste even relatively close to meat its gonna be full of unhealthy additives that possibly makes it even more unhealthy than actual red meat itself.

The point of this stuff is that it DOES have an advantage in that it takes way less water, required green space, and overall resources compared to the amount of feed and water required to make even one pound of beef. That's also why people are wanting to make high-protein snacks and meals that come from bugs like crickets. No sane person will delude themselves into claiming it tastes "the same". It's a taste that people are going to have to learn to appreciate in the long run. People won't enjoy bug-based protein meals tomorrow. It will never be cheaper than meat because it's a direct competitor to meat and there is already a price for what the market will bear for ground beef (where I live $3-5/ lb depending on lean). There is no reason for Impossible or Beyond our any other manufacturer to sell their product for less as it goes against basic economic principles. It's also unlikely to achieve price equity because in addition to being a competitor it's also an alternative. It will always be more expensive than beef because with beef you're just paying for meat, with imitation beef you're paying for meat+the service of being able to eat meatless meat.

Drinking it more than water was bad. Men naturally produce estrogen. Having a glass of chocolate soy milk once a in a while would have no adverse effects. Drinking 1 glass a day would however.

No, it tastes like garbage and is not remotely a replacement for meat. Not in taste, not in nutrition. Lab-grown meat has some promise if they can find a way to grow marbled fat in it and make the taste less sterile, since it would at least be animal protein and saturated fat, but I'm not sure if they could get the micronutrient content right without a level of fuckery I'm uncomfortable with. If the meat industry collapses I'll just buy some land and raise my own animals to get just enough meat for myself.

American beer has been lighter Pilsners and other German styles since the late 1800s with the influx of German immigrants. It has nothing to do with Prohibition or WWII.

In fact contemporary writings from GIs in Europe noted nonstop how stronger British beer was, and noted German beer was closer to what they got in the US

Every piece of human biological and physiological data disagrees with you, while every piece of human evolutionary data shows humans increasing meat consumption is what directly led to the development of larger brains and thus greater cognitive development.

If you wanna be vegan or vegetarian have at it, but don't pretend that humans aren't omnivores and have evolutionarily developed nutritional needs that can only be gained from meat consumption (or massive amounts of artificial supplements)
