of course homemade mac n cheese will beat a box any day, but that powdered cheese mix has a taste thats uniquely enjoyable. what gives it that unique taste, and how can I add it to my homemade mac without simply buying boxes to add the powder?

You can just buy the powdered cheese you know

I was looking at similar products before i made the thread, but idk if they'd taste the same. a lot I've seen look like simpyl dehydrated cheese, which when rehydrated should just be normal cheese. but it could be that it can give a higher concentration of cheese to moisture, which might be what I'm looking for, but I was hoping someone could weigh in before I decide to buy something that might just be worse than normal cheese

Im in CA, so I assume Costco or Smart and Final would be the closest comparisons. I was just going to order it on amazon because I've never seen powdered cheese in a store

This is true with a lot of store bought foods.
An example would be frozen pizza. Its nothing like the real thing, but some brands make a really tasty product.

I dont see anything about that as an ingredient in anything, just that it exists naturally in cheese. would powdered cheese have higher levels, or do you mean sodium citrate?

I enjoy boxed mac and cheese more than the real thing, honestly. The spongebob ones taste the best for some reason
