So fucking true.
I bought a certain car when I was 19 for dirt cheap knowing it would appreciate over time because of how much all my Forza and Gran turismo autistic friends spoke about it.

It sat in my uncles garage until two years ago and sold it for probably 600% of my initial buying price.

I may be wrong here but I think what’s happening is that were witnessing a bit of a renascence of the lower classes. What was once considered to be luxury for plebeians and the servant class is becoming accessible and available. On top of that the lower classes consider themselves to be elevated when they purchase these items because it used to be a status symbol. So we have a large population of over educated, under worked, (and all things considered) materialistically better off than their ancestors. They have wrapped their identity up in consumerism and status warfare. The funny thing about that, if I’m right, is that these same people are typically a net negative for society and have become less productive than those before them which only degrades the economy and puts them in positions further away from their desired status, which ironically fuels their desires to attain status symbols to create the illusion of progress. This is why theyre considered fags because they are completely useless to society and offer nothing of benefit to the world. Reddit is the epitome of this type of lifestyle. They find niche and ultimately useless status symbols to flaunt which sparks a new status standard that others will then try to attain in order to fit in that crowd. That’s why we see a level of arrogance there that no where else cultivates. I may be wrong but the theory is seemingly becoming more possible as the days go on.

You are basically describing capitalist egotism. The access to certain foods has and always will be a status symbol of your place in society, and most people will try their damnest to make sure they have as much access to as many foods as possible, whether through hard work or by other means.
And no, people haven't become less productive because the means of production have become more efficient. The economy isn't deteriorating, it only accelerates in the direction that the political climate that controls it. The only time it deteriorates is when it become less efficient over a long period of time. Reddit is just a website people go to for that dopamine rush, but there isn't that much behind it like some sort of social deterioration.
Now go back to making homemade sourdough.

I'm 33, I own a house. And I got extremely lucky on the sale because it was a sweet old grandma who hated how her area was being bought up by outsiders and turned down three much more generous offers.
Before that we put in over 15 offers and each one went over by 50,000 asking. So you tell me, when people offer more than we had for a fucking down payment, you honestly think the issue is me buying avocados and country ham?

I fully agree with your first paragraph. However your second is not based in reality. The global economy is in shambles and is due for a major correction, either by depression grade collapse or a forced new model. The economic gap is growing exponentially and now that covid has shut down the bulk of small business owners the middle class is in a dire position. Historically when the middle class shrinks too quickly you end up with a division too big to patch with stimulus. More to the point we have become less efficient because of the dwindling middle class as we are relying on outsourcing the majority of what was once domestic. That outsourcing, by definition, is inefficient when paired with the gross demand for ultra cheap mass produced products that usually have a life span of less than a year. Reddit is nothing more than a historical timeline of demographics leaning away from altruism to this strange heard mentality that reinforces self centrism.

>> No.15294645

>>15294528
What does that have to do with anything? The more frivolous you are with your money the less you have of it and if your spending habits are mostly consuming then you are essentially throwing money away. There’s nothing confusing or political about that.

Got one of those Hams from my brother-in-law last Christmas. He is an executive chef for apple in california. Came with a stand, cover, carving knife, looked it up $2300. Tried it a couple of times, did not like it at all, tasted rotten to me, really bad aftertaste, my dog, papered purebred bone mouth shar pei, loved it, mouth would water when he realized I was cutting him a piece, my good boy was a very happy boy fir a couple of months, wife tells her brother about the dog enjoying the ham, he cut off contact fot 6 months, this Christmas I get a Walmart delivery, pre-cooked, pre-sliced, hickory-smoked, smithfield ham, fucking fantastic, me and puppers having a great end of the year feast.

superior ham coming through. roughly equal price, much better marbling (though definitely fattier) and much smokier so it can give off solid smoky flavour to say a soup.
also obviously easier to cut with your normal tools and can be fridged instead of taking up space with the stand.
only thing serrano does better would be a more subtle meaty taste as well as a nuttiness since schwarz is quite heavy in smoke.
