It really is a great cheap meal. To keep it cheap and add a lot more nutrition I like to add a scrambled egg.

That with some hot sauce is my go-to budget meal.

Don't delude yourself that it is easy and a complete meal. There's meat, bones, pork fat of some sort, whether chorizo or a ham hock or a smoked neck, or a roasted pork. There's a shitload of prepwork and ingredients going into the family prepared sofrito paste, kept in the fridge and replenished weekly, and there will be a few things like a corn cob, pumpkin section, chunk of plantain, or and other goodies in the stock pot with the beans.

Red beans and rice are a staple of Cajun/Creole as well, although they generally use andouille sausage as a flavoring. Then you have the white trash midwest and south where white beans cooked with ham hocks/ham bone served with corn pone or mush was a staple. I'm pretty certain beans/grain is a staple among most of the disenfranchised, it's only rejected by the top 10%.

Lot's of countries eat rice and beans, because lots of countries are poor. "Mastering" it would imply that they actually do it well, which Brazil does not.

You can buy both black beans and red beans already seasoned in the can.
Various latin brands like Goya, Kirby, El Ebro, Iberia, and other ones like southern/soul food brand Glory. There are dried combination rice and bean packets, from Vigo to Mahatma to Zatarains.
You can buy Sofrito, red or green versions, in the jar in the latino section too. It's the bean starter for some spanish cooks who don't' make their own and jar it weekly. You've got dried Sazon Goya highly seasoned bouillon cubes plus MSG or plus saffron.
Sometimes it's creole, but most of the time it is some Caribbean or south american style.

WTF is that in added sugars, nothing! that's what. A tsp would be 15g.

A black bean soup recipe always have 1 Tbsp of brown sugar to compensate for onions not caramelized to sweetness. I wouldn't expect to find that in a Red beans, creole or caribbean style recipe whatsoever.

If the beans aren't canned beans, you'd probably want to cook them first. You also need to cook the rice, as simple as it is.
That's why it's easy for beginners. Just cook the rice, cook the beans (optional for canned beans), put them on a plate

This is typical behavior on the internet among Brazilians, they always, ALWAYS have to reduce the entire conversation to it being about them, if they’re mentioned even if very briefly they spawn in ridiculous numbers like hordes out of the blue and make it all about them. Notice how they always have to out themselves as being Brazilian at every chance they get, even if it literally makes no difference whatsoever to the discussion, they can’t help themselves, they HAVE to mention it. It’s incredibly obnoxious. OP is 100% Brazilian. Take this thread for instance, he probably thinks only Brazil has beans and rice in grocery stores.

Buy canned beans if you want convenience. Honestly get both so you can eat whichever the situation calls for. Dried will be cheaper of course. Cook beans until they're a lil softer than you like them, cuz they'll firm up slightly after cooking.
