Yes, it did turn out pretty good. A bit much liquid in the cooking pan, but you can make gravy with that.

Next time, if it comes out like this again, put the bird back in the oven and set it to broil. Be sure to keep an eye on it constantly and take it out once you've browned the top a bit more. Not too much.

As it is, you should be proud. Well done for a first try and Merry Christmas. PS don't forget to rest it a full half hour before trying to carve it, in that time make your gravy.

Did you shove taters up its ass? That’s my favorite way to eat taters.

Here is my chicken I made for my family tonight. I said to myself it wasn’t worth sharing because I thought the browning was inconsistent. It was fine- I added two little tomaters and three bell peppers for aromatics and it really made the drippings/broth (and therefore the gravy) leftover very good- both the vegetables are full of sugars so it helped for caramelization.

Holy shit, that looks delicious. Hope it was a hearty meal anon

I reallllllllly like the legs and dark meat and they just fell off the rest of the chicken and the bone just slid out! Roast chicken is one of the most fun things to cook.

OP’s turkey is good looking as well. Lots of drippings to do things with.
