Merry Christmas Anons.
Lets put it to rest once and for all, Americans suck at making anything approximating to the classic Bong dishes like roasts.
Ergo, their festive dinners are always shit tier trash.
How and why have America failed to adopt the British standard roast?

I can well believe this, slices of processed, wafer thin ham with extra added water.
The only form of hydration currently available to the residents of Flint Michigan.

Baked ziti on christmas eve; Baked ham on christmas day.
That's the tradition with my family, coming from my father's side. Paternal grandmother was 100% Sicilian.

Sounds nice, my immediate family are joyless tards so there are no such traditions, not even a meal really on the holidays, today I cooked myself eggs for breakfast and will eat a sandwich later. Only time there is special food is if my mom goes over to my cousins, who just have their holiday parties catered with all sorts of shit. I'm starting to understand why holidays are depressing to some as I grow in age, I wish I could meet a cute dickgirl to make new traditions with maybe and have our own place, but I'm just stuck here with my joyless folks as a dumb neet with no money making skills eating luncheon meat.

Anon, as someone who was brought up with the full traditional thing, sometimes its nice, sometimes its fucking torturous.
This year im tier 4 in the UK, cant go anywhere, really loving having Christmas to myself for a change.
Hold your head up high bro, get some beers in and just have a good day of doing what you want.

Happy Christmas.

We make the sauce from scratch as well, which I feel is a big part of it. Typically 1 pot of meat sauce and 1 zucchini. Meat sauce uses meatballs (ground beef, ground pork, minced garlic, seasoned italian breadcrumbs, egg, ???) from scratch and italian sweet sausages.
Eggplant rollitini is also a christmas eve standard. Trick is to slice 'em real thin, salt 'em and let sit for a while, wash 'em off and let dry, then flour -> egg -> breadcrumb and pan fry. Spread a layer of sauce and some ricotta on each one, roll it up, and bake in a small tray with a little more sauce and a little bit of mozzarella on top.

Only made the meat sauce this year. No point making the whole shebang when it's only me and my father because of covid. Although we did also make the roasted red peppers in garlic/oil and mushrooms in vinegar, etc.
I need to take a larger part in the cooking next year. I can't remember how to make everything by heart anymore.

The UK doesn't have a military anymore, and Brexit means the EU likely will ally with China before they ever ally with the UK again. Maybe if your leaders get on their hands and knees and beg for Merkel to forgive them and accept them back into the union.

Beg Merkel? That would be hilarious and tragic at the same time. That bitch has done more to destroy the fabric of Europe than all the politicians of WWI and the Nazis of WWII ever managed to do. Not even Stalin was as destructive as she has been.
