I think ducks are a lot harder to intensively rear and there's less meat on them compared to a modern chicken. I guess it's also a circle of they're expensive because they're less popular than chicken, and they're less popular than chicken because they're more expensive.

I'd say duck is a whole lot moister and fattier. It's hard to really describe the flavour, but imo it's a lot richer and more flavourful, perhaps slightly closer to a red meat. In terms of texture, there's not that much difference, maybe duck is a bit denser.

The meats more of a sometimes food I guess, and requires better skill with seasoning to not fuck it up. It's dark, rich and fatty and overall a lot more filling than chicken can ever be, but it can also be quite cloying and overpowering of other things on the plate.

I don't think there is too much difference with the eggs, although I do find duck eggs lighter than chicken eggs, and less forgiving if you softboil them.

Hardboiled eggs are a waste.

They can be pretty loud and aggressive. If you've never took care of chicken, then I'd say just don't because they're more difficult to deal with.
If you did however then sure. They're great against pests and possibly the only animal that takes care of your garden if you have a slug problem.
