This. A quick google search shows that Aussies typically don't put much if ANY methanol in their methylated spirits. It's possible that there are other toxic/emetic chemicals in there, but I'm guessing it's probably just odorous/bittering shit too.

>> No.15266738

I've found you can get pretty solid bottles of Bourbon, Rye, Gin, Rum, and even some Cognac at the $30~50 mark. As in you can get really good stuff at that price mark unless you have really high taste or some shit. Hell, most places will have sales of this price bracket down to mid $20 a bottle.

The problem is Scotch. The price range on that has went up the last few years by a lot.

Also good with chilled double strength herbal teas like roibois or passionflower. Sometime I will carbonate those as well. Experimented with gin in a mint julep with cucumber this summer. Wasn't half bad, but was not an improvement.
And I am a sucker for anything in ginger ale/beer. Wondering if birch beer would mix well.

In my thirties, and if I get a handle of something I'm going to down it real quick. Hungover for days. Franzia tastes like shit, but It's like the right amount for a night or two to get a buzz, maybe leave some left for hair of the dog on Sunday.

$12 after tax. If I didn't strategize like paragraph above or care I'd get Popov. It's better than Taaka. I'd mix it with sugar free drink packets and seltzer water or just discount diet soda.

Correct, I wouldn't call it cheap. I think Very Old Barton 100 proof or Evan Williams bottled in bond is best cheap bourbon

Old Fo is best bang for your buck

$35 for a 1.75 is solid

I tend to rotate Old Fo and Evan Williams Bottled in Bond

Sometimes I'll mix buffalo trace in if it's a good price and available.

Here recently Kroger has had Eagle Rare for $28 a 750. That's a steal if you can get them to sell you some. Luckily my buddy works at a Kroger liquor store and sells me a bottle everytime it's come in lately

I went to 3 different ABC stores today buying gifts.

None had Buffalo Trace or Wellers, one had a couple bottles of 1.75L Eagle Trace, and one had a couple bottles of Booker's. Thought about buying the Booker's for resell, but don't have boomer time.

Bought some Russell Reserve for my father in law and EC Small Batch for myself. I also found JTS Brown Bottle in Bond, but my queerass state charges $17/750ml same as EW White Label even though JTS Brown is the "cheaper" version.

Thanks for reading my blog and hit that like button.

Benchmark bourbon, it's around 20$ a handle, good enough to drink straight. They made some stronger versions this year, best budget bourbon hands down, I've been drinking a lot of it lately. Usually drink Wild Turkey 101 and it's always pretty cheap. Maison Rouge(I shill this a lot here but it's such a great buy!) is my favorite cheap cognac, between 20-25$. I cook with it all the time whenever a recipe calls for brandy. I like single pot still Irish whiskey, definitely cheaper than scotch usually. I like Redbreast and Green Spot(both about 60$)

not bad, surprisingly smooth for just above plastic bottle tier vodka. It does have that alcohol aftertaste and smell but considering it's on the 2nd cheapest vodka shelf tier, not bad at all.

Which vodkas are smoother? In what regard? Sobieski is good in price to taste ratio but I'd spend just a little bit more for Alpha Gold for an everyday vodka but I still need to try Luksusowa. The smoothest vodka I've ever tried? I had the fortunate to acquire a bottle of Putinka Premium Limited Edition for 80% off from a liquor store going out of business, I don't think anything could top that vodka so I'm looking for the best bottom shelf now.

Bourbon: ol grandad. The 114 if you can get it

Scotch: aldi UK has some damn good scotch for the price. Not top tier but I've had their blended 8 year and highland single malt and both were enjoyable

Gin: Koval is my favorite, always pick up a bottle in Chicago.

Luksusowa is $13, both Stoli and Russian Standard are $20 in my hood with Stoli 100 at $25. (750ml)

I can't justify the cost of Stoli, Russian Standard, or that damn meme Tito's when the Poles make the best vodka that even shuts up the gluten free fags.
