i dunno what it's called or if it has a name, i want to say i came up with it but it's kind of a mix between a g&t and a gimlet
>i zest half a lime and put the zest in the bottom of a glass that fits 12 fl oz no ice comfortably
>handful of ice
>2 shots tanqueray rangpur
>the half of the lime i haven't zested i turn inside out and just plop on top of the ice
>key lime la croix until glass is at max comfortable fullness
>juice from zested half of lime on top

The cocktail was introduced by the army of the British East India Company in India. In India and other tropical regions, malaria was a persistent problem. In the 1700s, Scottish doctor George Cleghorn studied how quinine, a traditional cure for malaria,[14] could be used to prevent the disease.[15] The quinine was drunk in tonic water but the bitter taste was unpleasant.[15]

British officers in India in the early 19th century took to adding a mixture of water, sugar, lime and gin to the quinine in order to make the drink more palatable, thus gin and tonic was born.[16] Soldiers in India were already given a gin ration, and the sweet concoction made sense.

Depends on the mood, really.

1. Classic gin, tonic and lemon.
2. Classic martini (vodka, vermouth, gin)
3. Floradora
In that order

>> No.15237547

For me, its the Martinez.

>> No.15237772

The Last Word is good as well
Martinis are a classic. my ratio is 3:1 gin to vermouth, sometimes 2:1 or 4:1 works as well.

Another one of my go-to's would be 'The Bennett'

2 OZ Dry Gin
0.75 OZ Lime Juice
2-3 Dashes Angostura
0.50 OZ SS (I usually omit it though).

I like gin (bombay sapphire) and limeade. Family has always made it on occasions. It is kind of hard to experiment with gin drinks since each gin is so different but this is a fairly popular one.
