What's the best soda for an ice cream float? Which flavors other than vanilla for ice cream? Currently I've tried cream soda, root beer and dr pepper and so far I think Dr Pepper is my favorite.

Cherry coke and Dr. Pepper with chocolate
Cream and butter pecan
any kind of lemon lime/citrus with sherbet
Motherfuckin cheerwine or peach nehi with vanilla is dope but those are pretty regional

Friendly's lets you make your own float, so I picked cream soda and this pop rocks cotton candy ice cream, except I didn't realize it had pop rocks in it so when I pushed the spoon through the ice cream it just started fizzing up and overflowed all over the place. Was really tasty though I'll probably get it again.

I went to Orlando,FL and visited the cocacola shop they have there. Me and 3 other friends went in to try a tray of the sodas cocacola produces around the world, and a tray of the floats. It was a miserable experience. The floats were horrible. Never in my life have I regretted eating something that wasn't distinctly food poisoning. I would never go out of my way to get a float, unless it's orange soda and vanilla icecream.
