fact 1: MSG is just as harmless as tomato paste, soy sauce, wooster sauce, miso, oyster mushrooms, torula yeast (chips) and chicken/fish stock

fact 2: all of these things ARE harmful due to free glutamate content, meaning MSG is harmful as well.

fact 3: italian restaurants' "white wine" dishes are loaded with MSG 80% of the time

glutamates are meant to be consumed in their whole form via fresh meat. Anything else is hazardous to your health and excitotoxic.

The thing is, when picking through this paper don't just read each statement and assume oh gosh this is the true facts/science I'm reading here.

The objective of the paper is given in the abstract and the journal that published it specialises is broad 'debate' topics.

It says ...

The purpose of this editorial is to shed light on MSG toxicity and the possible threat it poses to public health. Can MSG associated harm be prevented or should the product be banned altogether?

So it isn't even looking to draw a conclusion.

A lot of the studies cited in that paper aren't great studies or aren't being used in the correct context or are refuted by several other similar studies. I'd be happy to pick through the evidence offered for each claim made in that paper and discuss it?

For example it cites a chinese study showing correlation between daily msg intake and the likely hood of having a BMI over 23. Firstly ... fat people tend to eat more food and eating more food will be associated with a greater consumption overall and/or different types of food, but anyway.

This study considered relevant to the anti MSG brigade ...

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21856888/

Was used by this study ...

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32625571/

Where it was used to establish the safety of MSG as a food additive for the european food safety authority because it was showing MSG consumption to be no real issue.

That paper does however give a figure of 3.2g/kg per day as an upper limit for no observed adverse effect level and then reduces it by a 'safety factor' of 100 to 320mg/kg per person per day which is what? 25g a day?

Once again the seething retards come out of their cave to spout nonsense about MSG. Here they go trying to refute a study showing there are no dangers to MSG while they never produce a single credible source beyond injecting small mammals with massive quantities of the stuff. If you still believe MSG is bad for you, you're either a brain dead retard or an incel chud who associates it with chinese food even though it's been around for all of time.

funny how much butthurt I've caused just by stating facts.

to those of you who are MSG sensitive: carefully gauge your reaction when you consume a large quantity of the listed OP ingredients: oyster mushrooms, tomato paste, etc.

chances are you'll develop twitching and/or headaches after, because the problem isn't MSG, it's free glutamates. MSG is simply one avenue of free glutamates which gets all the attention because most europeans are retarded sheep.

>> No.15202731

>>15202713
>>15200748
also it is my belief that Mongoloids, or at least Chinese are partially adapted to this by being naturally inhibited.

The regular consumption of free glutamates in the form of soy sauce, miso, etc have selected for a naturally inhibited behavioral phenotype, because glutamates are excitotoxic.

Meanwhile Indians/Arabs/Europeans retain a more excitable behavioral phenotype because they're adapted to neutral or even inhibitory foods (like milk). Oysters are also a very inhibitory food due to the zinc content)

You guys just couldn't help but fall into this ridiculous back and forth tit for tat bullshit again could you?

Yo anybody interested beyond the superficial shit posting check out ...

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19587091/

Also of interest is what is listed under similar articles. I say of interest because a lot of what seems to get people riled up is MSG as an excitotoxin.

While tons of evidence exist to show that it is an excitotoxin when applied in pretty enormous doses directly to brains and such none seems to exist to show the same when consumed as part of your diet, even when added to food. I mean ... even anecdotally despite 'chinese restaurant syndrome'.

Chinese restaurant syndrome itself was a joke by a guy called Dr. Howard Steel too.

Anyway. It doesn't enter your bloodstream as free glutamate. Everybody is always like ... oh it passes the blood brain barrier. It is oxidised pretty quickly in your stomach and intestines. There is even a study there were they tube fed the stuff to preterm infants. These studies are all less than 15 years old.

But whatever. Feel free to post anything resembling a position with some evidence that worries you and I'll be happy to break it down. I'm down to learn if you've got something.
