I use a French press too and I've found that 4 minutes is not enough time, I let it sit for 10 minutes most times. I don't drink coffee that often.

I prefer paper filtered coffee so I use a drip coffee machine, the breville precision brewer. When it's just me, I use a v60.

Also, just use sugar OP. Sweetener is no good for you.
