Not just the hot sauce though, people think MREs are prepper food. They are NOT. They have terrible quality control and go rotten wayyyy before the expiration date

No, Tabasco is just shit. It tastes exactly the same. MREs have some commonly produced items in them that are modified for longevity (the Starkist tuna MRE comes to mind) that just taste off due to some weird preservative or something, but no Tabasco is just "spicy" shit water

Tabasco is a weird sauce and is honeslty way less versatile as they want you to believe it. Used well its potent and can really liven up some recipes. In a lame ass american MRE it would probably overpower everything.

it slowly dries out or something. it's always some varying level of going off in an MRE. sometimes they break and leak all over everything. sometimes the main course is bloated because it went bad. they're all pretty terrible food in general. I'd rather eat cliff bars.

I know what Tabasco is, and you probably havent had an American MRE. You *want* the food to be overpowered by something, but Tabasco is just so bad on such a wide variety of food.

The best thing I ever found for fixing MRE type food is pic related. Yes, it isnt hot sauce, but is not a good thread anyway
