>grossed out by tomatoes
Ahh, victims of the modern marketplace, I see. To truly appreciate something like a BLT you need to go pick up some warm heirlooms at a farmer's market in early August. Drive home, fry (or bake) up some thick-cut bacon, shred some lettuce, and toast some good quality bread. Buttered bread, thick sliced tomato, salt and pepper, bacon, shredded lettuce, and more buttered bread. Mayo if you want (I'm not a fan). Mustard if you must (I can do that sometimes).

You'd never go back. If there's one more lover letter I could write toward tomatoes, it's fresh cherry and pear tomatoes in a vibrant puttanesca. You'll wish they were season 12 months of the year once you use them right.

I did have my first weird corn cookie thing here which was surprisingly good. Ohio isn't as bad as people make it out to be, at least not the cities, the rest of it is probably ass. They have some really nice pastries, and if it suits you, the same strip mall has a pretty good japanese restaurant attached to a japanese grocer. they have some $5 bowls that are pretty filling and you can get a few for cheap and try different things. the pork cutlet is good. they also have a decent ramen and okonomiyaki. i suggest the mango mousse at Belle's.

Mostly just stick to my little neighborhood here, there's three dedicated bars on my section of Kenny Rd and I got rid of my car when I moved up here since the bus stop is a 5 minute walk max and takes me right to campus. I hope to make it up to Cleveland before I wrap up my PhD. Barberton chicken is fucking great and something I wish more folks in Ohio and beyond knew about. The assembly needs work. Cut the bread in half properly.
Then layer it so you get even amounts of ingredients in every bite
It's too wet. Go a little easier on the mayo. Make sure the lettuce is dry. Cut the tomatoes way thinner so that most of the water stays on the cutting board.
Cut up those olives. They make the sandwich saltier, but that's shit if you have 3 spots where the sandwich is super salty and no saltiness anywhere else.
