does /ck/ have any grilled cheese recipes worth mentioning? a way to prepare it that takes a twist on the average cheddar on buttered toast?

Sprinkle a nice hard cheese say grana padano on the outside of the bread before grilling. Not super revolutionary but my kidlets like it

>> No.15153408

all recipes online are pretty ass. literally just cheese and butter on bread. the best just use different types of bread

There's a specialty grilled cheese place in the town I went to school. They had grilled cheeses with bruschetta and the like on different breads that are so fucking good. I never found out how they make them though

Dont mind me I'm here to see the turbo autists ranting over cheese
But to bump something more than that
>Blue cheese
>Walnut finely chopped (adds for the crunch but it's optional)
>Some good melting cheese

Seconding this for sure. You don't need a lot either and you can just have it on the inside with the cheddar. Really adds some depth.

although that's a pretty cool novelty type of sandwich im definitely gonna make, im looking for a different way of making a grilled cheese to make it better. not just presentation

But that is making it better. The cheese crown takes on toasty flavors you wouldn’t get otherwise, not to mention the crunch.

Everybody ga-gas over Kraft because it melts so goddamn good, but you can get the same affect by using one slice and mixing with other, more flavorful cheeses. Try something like jalapeno havarti, a nice swiss, and then one Kraft single in the middle. As has already been mentioned, use a good-quality bread (preferably that you slice yourself) rather than cheap garbage, and use a better butter. I also like a good schmear of spicy brown mustard on the inside.

yeah sorry im kinda retarded. it's pretty sweet ngl

>> No.15153992

>>15153913
maybe it's just me but kraft singles or similar variants leave a really weird after taste that literally overpowers everything else. it's a weird bitter/metallic aftertaste that no matter how little cheese i use i can still taste it after i've swallowed

It was really crazy because she released that video a day after I was thinking about doing a caramelized onion grilled cheese. The apples and nuts is crazy though, I never would've thought of that
