ITT: Post your favourite gins, tonics and other juniper-spirit related content

In my case Beefeater 24 is the shit, nicely herbal and citrusy, not too piney/junipery. It also is not that expensive

i drink bombay sapphire then make kitschy beach art with the bottles by filling them with sand, then sell them to affluent moms at farmers markets

By the time you've mixed with tonic, cheap gin and expensive gin are basically the same.

I like gin, but so far I've only had it in G+T's. What are some other gin drinks I should try?

Gin can be substituted in several cocktails you may already enjoy. I made a tequila sunrise with gin on thanksgiving that was much better that way imo.

Traditional gin drinks:

Singapore Sling
Tom Collins
Gin Gimlet
Last Word
French 75
Martini
Negroni

Tom collins/Gin Gimlet probably being the best entry point for something new vs Martinis/Negronis which some people just don't like

Almost all nuances are lost by the time you have added 2-3 times the amount of tonic you have to gin plus garnish

Never drink gin. Reminds me of this guy who would spend 2.50 on gin then try to buy a dime every single day.

My brother insists on only ever buying london dry gins (and mostly cheap ones at that). Is he missing out by never having one that isn't london dry? Or are they all just gin flavored shitty vodka?

I normally use Fever Tree.

I've bought plenty of expensive gins. Perhaps I'm a tastelet. To me, it's like mixing with whisky with coke. No point using a nice one because the flavour is masked.

Based Beefeater poster. For my money, the best gin brand.

>Unbeaten value for money, both the original and the 24 versions
>affordable
>unpretentious

Just give me pic related and i'm a happy man. (the pink beefeater is trash tho)

Depends on the ratio of gin to tonic and the strength of the tonic.
With a milder (e.g. less sweet) tonic and a 50/50 ratio of tonic to gin, it can bring out some of the subtler notes in botanical gins, esp. craft stuff with unconventional spices and herbs.

I find most bottled in bond bourbons to have the perfect amount of juniper flavoring.

Stop pretending to enjoy gin, no one actually likes it. Drink a Pepsi and read the Bible.

Hey fellas,
Just getting into Gin, should I begin lower end and work my way up? Or start mid-high end? I know they're different, but I started low to high with wine and I feel like that went well. I was considering grabbing a bottle of Drumshanbo Gunpowder (pic related) for my first go...or Roku, since I already love what Suntory puts out
