Hey guys, I want to make some comfy homemade cider for the holidays, and I know the basic process, but I figured I would come here and see if anyone else has tried this

Share recipes, etc.

Thanksgiving related: I responded to a call last night for a girl that had her fingertip bitten off by her cousin, so that was fun

Every year my family makes wassail, which is similar to cider, but better imo.

2 qts cider
2 cups orange juice
2 cups pineapple juice
.5 cup lemon juice
.5 cup sugar
12 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
Bring to boil and then simmer 15min
Can be served hot or cold
If you're a degen like me you can add crown apple or other apple flavored whiskey to it. You can mix it about half and half and it still tastes good.

Interesting, what does it taste like?

Get a bottle of raw applejuice from the farmer's market
Leave it in the fridge for a couple weeks and it'll ferment into cider all on its own.

If you're impatient then put a bit of champagne yeast in there and rig up a one-way exhaust valve. Cheapest way to do so is to cover the opening with a balloon and prick a single hole at the top with a pin, but this is not the best practice.

To brew your own you should've started months ago
