Fucked up tongue receptors due to alcohol over consumption which resulted in overspiced trash food. Way too high dosages of salt and sugar resulted in unhealthy lifestyle, and created carvings.
Another thing is immigrants butchering the cuisine, a lot of races collide in a small place, who bring their own shit and merge their own recipes with thr native ones. Said immigrants also do the physical jobs which ends up into unhealthy, lazy lifestyle, but this lazyness also applies to their overall mentality, which promotes fast food culture, so more calories are eaten than needed. It also makes most food look unappealing due to less time spent cooking, and dimnished cooking skills, the overall gloominess due to heavy rains and fog also causes light depression where the fuckload of terrorist attacks doesn't help either.

Food culture was overtaken but shitty "convince food" in the 70s which is bland meat + bland carb + frozen veg boiled to death. But it was cheap, filling enough, and saved a lot of time compared to making any sort of meal from scratch. My guess is that with women working more, they didn't have the time or effort to prepare meals like they used to, and no food loving culture to keep their respect in what they make.
American's solved this through eating out, but that never took off here with less variety of immigrants foods to eat. So you get even our most retarded uncultured fuckwits making food for them selves.
Finally everyone see's our most retarded people, as they all speak english. Where as the most retarded kind from other nations will normally hide in their own local bubble.

On days or for the time they have an opportunity to, they will instead watch Netflix and order Uber eats
On weekends if they have time to meal prep, the people are usually too hungover to do so or they are retarded and can't cook anyway. Again they will just order takeaway filled with shit and watch Netflix or football
I observed a lot of people there, asked about their lives etc
Everyone pretty much followed the same pattern: work 9-5, get drunk every weekend and spend the next day in bed before repeating the process
The Muslims there were unironically more interesting and just better people in general
