I've lived in Rhode Island for 5 years and never heard of these. Is this just a single restaurant doing it, or is this a local thing? (Just to prove I'm not lying, let me mention Hot Weiners and Del's. The Mayor's Own pasta sauce was also pretty good. Buddy Cianci may be corrupt, but he made some good spaghetti sauce.)

Rhode Island is a FANTASTIC place to develop a hard drug addiction, BTW. I lived there back before the opiate crise hit, and was doing absolutely massive amounts of benzos, opioids, and pyschedelics. Back then, I read that the state had 2-3x the national average of hard drug users.

My 2nd-worst rock bottom moment involved cooking dinner in my studio apartment. I spent my last dollar on drugs and had nothing but (i) a bag of rice infested with bugs and maggots, and (ii) ground beef that had been left in the freezer way too long. Nothing else, including seasonings. I cooked up the rice, put the ground beef on top, and just... ate it. Later that evening, the police busted my next door neighbor, who was selling heroin. True story.

This was like 15 years ago. Doing better now. Rhode Island is a hell of a place.

There is nowhere called the 'State of Rhode Island.' There is, however, a state called the 'State of Rhode Island AND PROVIDENCE PLANTATIONS.' Do you know all 50 states? I hope Narragansett Beer is still popular over there. Out of mass-produced beers, it's extremely good for the price. Good memories of getting inappropriately drunk in public on "Gansetts."

-coffee milk - good. I’ll take a bottle with me when I leave this garbage state.
-Del’s - refreshing on a hot day, but it’s too sweet.
-Narraganset Lager - cheap piss water.
-NY System Weiners - delicious
-RI Clam Chowder - My go to chowdah when I hit up Rocky Point or Flo’s.
-Doughboys - what’s not to like?
-Pizza Strips - not bad, but weird. Would never buy, but would eat if offered.
-Stuffies - not bad. I’ve had some dry ones, though.
-Clam Cakes- love them.
-RI style Calamari - Delicious for 30 seconds. Then gets soggy.
