I've worked in a lot of kitchens, and I've worked with very few obese cooks. A lot of them have been pudgy dad-bod types, most of them have been on the skinny side, such as myself. Working in a small kitchen with big lads sucks.

Most chefs I worked with barely eat, and the combination of most being alcoholics or drug addicts combined with sporadic binge eating at inconsistent times means most are skinnyfat or just skinny. Me included.

Most line cooks are in their 20s and early 30s, students etc so unsociable hours plus often late finishes and short time between shifts means free time is usually during the night, so partying to let off steam is the obvious thing for most people to do.
