then ye kinda. With convection or air-fryers a fan circulates the warm air around. it means the outside of things cooks way faster.

If you try a fatty piece of meat it'll be raw in the middle, but for roasting veggies, fries, browning stuff, etc it's kinda fire.

I got a nice 4.5 star $130 on e on Amazon. Ended up giving it away after 6 months. It took FOREVER to cook shit even on high, you couldn't load much it, and stuff couldn't be very thick or it wouldn't cook through. Oven cooks much nicer in half the time.

My mom made roast beef and a roast vegtable medley in hers recently and said it cooked way faster than normal. The food tasted fine to me which was surprising. She was using a ninja brand one which I hear aren't the most reliable company but it seems to work fine for now at least

I do, now that I have an air fryer. Had an actual fryer that used oil, it did a good job, but the clean up and dealing with used oil just was not worth the hassle.

Kinda but it really depends what you wanna do with it. They are good for cooking frozen junk food but that's about it. Like others have said they are basically a convection oven although even if you already have a convection oven the "air fryer" being smaller will use a bit less energy if that's at all a concern.

Good fried food should have a crisp outside without being dry or overcooked. Cooking in hot oil really is the best way, a convection oven or air fryer is an OK substitute. It seems like a waste to heat a conventional oven to 450 just for fries or rings, also I would have to turn them over a few times to get an even crisp. A toaster oven would be a passable choice, but the fries would still have to be flipped a time or two.

it is an oven. if you own a conventional stove-oven it's not fully necessary, but just the same, any time I ever tried toasting a bagel in an oven instead of a toaster or toasteroven, for instance, it was very easy to burn. And if you don't have a traditional oven, it's a functional alternative. I've never had "an air fryer" but I do have a toasteroven in lieu of an oven-oven

I got one as a gift and it's kinda neat.

It's been good for making fries and fried pickles when I don't feel like messing with oil to actually fry things. I haven't tried cooking much outside of appetizers with it though.

I cook everything in it...chicken, steaks, burgers. It really is worth it, but get a good one not a cheap one. They will last if you treat it right and cool it down properly (don't just yank the thing out, push the stop button and let it run down properly)
