Are you talking about good olive oil? Because good olive oil is da way. Seriously. Well, not if you don't like salad. Then you can go fuck yourself. :)

Don't get scammed by American branded MSG labelled "Flavor" or some other shit that appeals to amerimutts. It's a chemical so you need to be buying it from the kings of chemical manufacture: China. If you can't read the label and can get a huge bag of it for 5 dollars, that's the good stuff.

>> No.15030363

>>15030222
I know where to buy bags of it like that, I just don't know what to do with it.

The only thing holding MSG back is the lack of a snappy name, change my mind.

lmao remember that time Adam Ragusea covered his fucking food in MSG to prove a point and said "it doesn't even taste very different" and Chinese Cooking Demystified commented on his channel to say "bro you actually ate that wtf that looks disgusting." He's a tastelet and it's hilarious.

hold up anon, I'm not sure that you exactly know science. Do you have a degree in any of this?

I'm a brilliant social scientist, but my ability to parse biological data isn't great. I know from past research that amyloid beta and tau clusters are both major factors in the manifestation of alzheimers...... but I don't know much about this whole GMO mouse thing. Please explain if you have more ability to parse this. From where I'm at this is a potentially earthshaking thing that is being completely fucking ignored.

If you can't find a fitting ingredient to add glutamates(parmesan/fish sauce/seaweed/etc) then msg doesn't really have a place in the dish.

>> No.15030562

I'm intrigued by MSG and am just recently starting to use it in stuff like fried rice and other Chinese dishes, but also.... well, I agree.

For example, if I make a tomato sauce for pasta, I am 100% adding anchovies.

Accent is literally 100% percent msg. Just look on the back where it says ingredients.
Makes no difference, even less than with salt.
