Burgers are great, but they've evolved beyond the classic. The original was from a era of poverty where even ground beef was given out like customers were recent holocaust survivors whose stomachs might explode were they given a proper meal.

People in Europe tend to trash burgers, I think they are wrong.
The main ingredients of a burger are: the bread, the meat, the cheese, the sauce and the vegetable(s). As a Frenchman, the combination of these ingrediends can only be delicious.

I would argue that is a Deluxe American Burger, while the Classic American would have to be the McSetup that has become so default. Mustard, Ketchup, Diced Onions, Pickles, Cheese.

lettuce should be on the bottom, then the cheese/burger then there should be light red onions, tomato and sauce (equal mix of relish, mayo, ketchup, and yellow mustard). Sometimes a pickle.

OP's burger has tomato in center away from any sauce, so that sucks. Lettuce is on top, presumably slathered in sauce, not good. Meat is directly on bottom bun, so that has bad mouth feel as well. All your wet (cheese and tomato) is in the middle, in danger of slipping the whole top from the bottom. You also don't need so much meat - the whole idea is that the bread and veg can support a moderate amount of seasoned and grilled hamburger.
I'd rate yours at 2/5. It could be worse but is generally mediocre and poorly designed.
