Where I live chinese food restaurants often serve american ribs, wings, and cheeseburgers. I am pretty sure the cheeseburgers are steamed, and they aren't that great. Still, I ate them at least once a week back when I was a neet in the early 2000s and I have a certain fondness for them.

My mom would sometimes serve ground beef by laying out like 3 pounds of it flat on a baking sheet, seasoning it, and then baking it to well-done. We'd slice it into squares and eat them on hamburger buns with cheese. I still do it occasionally, it's an objectively terrible way to prepare meat but I still love it.

One of the Safeways by my former job has an Asian-styled lunch buffet that charges about $9/lb

I usually make a plate of steamed rice, barbecue pork (dry and fatty pieces especially), vegetables in oyster sauce and some spicy fried tofu. It reminds me of when I used to have barbecue pork and steamed rice at this one place in High School that's no longer around.

Pandemic closed off the buffet and I no longer work that job. I wouldn't mind having 40 bucks and going hogwild there.

Also Skippy creamy peanut butter, and Welch's grape jelly on white bread, alongside Campbell's cream of chicken soup, either prepared or out of a can. I would dip the PB+J in the soup. Kraft box Macaroni isn't like spaghetti noodles where you could just put them in boiling water. You should actually cook it like rice, having it immersed in the cold water before the water gets heated. Do not heat the water separate from the Macaroni.

Generally the box recommends a 10-11 minute cooking time, but I haven't microwaved box macaroni since the age of Dreamcast so the instructions might've changed in that timeframe or have different recommended times if you have a higher wattage -- do pay attention to your microwave's power level. As I recall, you stir every 3 minutes, so you can't just set it can forget it. You need to stir in 3 minute periods so the pasta doesn't stick.

Once it's completed you'll notice the water has a foamy brim and your noodles have should be soft enough to eat (since they're shapes, I would imagine firmness is ideal). Drain the water and put the pasta back into the bowl. Add your cheese sauce and all the fixings and you're good to go.

My mom would try to force feed me but I’d cry until I threw up, it was an anxiety order. I really wanted to eat things but I felt I couldn’t. I didn’t want to feel ill and sweat when trying to eat broccoli, I wanted to go out and eat with friends without feeling ashamed I could only stomach chicken tenders. I’m happy to be better now but it fucked me up and I was sad constantly.

I've never had a one pound burger, are they any good? It seems like it would be pretty rough to eat a literal pound of meat on a burger. If it's just one burger it seems like it'd be really dry. If it's four seperate quarter pounders that'd be better, but it still won't seem great

>>14996616
I absolutely love those. Fond memories of going to a car boot sale with my dad, having to carry a shitload of records he would never listen to to the car, and then food truck burgers with the mysterious "burger sauce"

Cauliflower cheese. My mother hated cauliflower so would never make it, because she made what she wanted, and everyone else could get fucked. Whenever my parents used to argue for hours I'd usually get dropped off at my grandmothers, and she was a baby boomer raised post war so her cooking repertoire was limited, and we learned to make new stuff together because even she was getting sick of Shephards pie every other day. I think that's where I got my love of cooking

Also, steak and kidney pudding with gravy, half chips and half fried rice. I'd get that with my dad after school, when he didn't feel like eating whatever bullshit diet my mother decided he needed this month because she's a control freak. Even other northerners look at me funny for having rice with one, but at least that's tolerated. Where I live now a steak and kidney pudding is considered disgusting beyond belief

my dad worked at a stadium and they had fast food places inside and everyday he'd bring home several cheeseburgers and I'd heat them up and eat them before dinner. the double bacon cheeseburger from carls jr does it for me. throw in some stars from the secret menu(they still do that right?) and you're set.

My mom is German and would make spaetzle. She never cooked anything from scratch and would microwave everything to the point that it was almost inedible. I hated her "cooking" but I always loved the fresh spaetzle she made.
