I'm from Washington state and I've never seen goat meat available anywhere. I'm on vacation I. The Dominican Republic and I swear goat meat is more common than beef. I've tried stewed goat, goat steak, and goat soup and it's really not that bad, but it's bony as fuck. Apparently Dominicans prefer old busted goats for meat, too. Not sure what you mean by aftertaste, at first I just thought it was regular beef.
