Pork producers did a heavy marketing campaign to put bacon in everything so people would buy more. It's probably why bacon was also pretty expensive for a while, I remember some years it was about double what it normally was. Plus bacon was seen as something "naughty" because of the fat when people were still thinking eating fat was inherently bad. I like it, but I don't think it's something amazing that needs to be eaten as often as possible.

I mostly have bacon around to render bacon grease for cooking.

Having said that industrial bacon is pretty shit compared to bacon made at home or from a reputable butcher.

Also beef bacon is fucking amazing.

I like Father's smoked bacon, real smoked bacon not the faggoty stuff you get in the store that the closest it gets to smoked nowadays is when people take drag off a cigarette outside the building.

Father's is the type of smoked bacon that sets off your smoke alarm when you open the package. it's a bit on the salty side (like OP).

I also like a nice fatty piece of crappy grocery store bacon. but not when it's over cooked like in OP's pic.

Nope good bacon has just a hint of brown on it, like (OP's dick). Some bacon taste better if left to sit open in the fridge for a couple of weeks and it pics up a slight sour taste in the fat.

mmmm bacon fat the most sublime tasting fat of all fats. When smoked and salted it is heaven.

I love all the subtle flavors and smells of bacon.
