Well considered that Italian pizza is made with Italian imported ingredients (if they’re pizza like these ones >>14971266 which use only Italian sourced products) you have to take into account they there are import taxes so in the end the Italian pizza will cost more.

Now, if you go to a place that makes proper Italian pizza but using local ingredients, it needs to cost less because otherwise you’re paying for the meme.

To some extent we in Italy have the same meme tax here at north for Neapolitan pizza, we pay extra because it’s seen as the ultimate gourmet meme shit (it costs 20% some more than regular flat pizza) and therefore Neapolitans here at north speculates on it and we idiots pay more and are happy.

Meanwhile in Naples pizza is dirt fucking cheap, with 5€ you eat a pizza with beer and taxes while here at north the same pizza at the same pizza place costs 6-7€ + beverages + taxes.

I don’t know what a large pie is because pizza here doesn’t have different serving sizes, they’re all personal pizza with standard traditional sizes, so I can’t judge.
We have a particular style of pizza, kinda like pan pizza but in the wood oven, which can be bought as an entire pan rather than in slices. Usually you buy it as a Margherita, it makes 6 slices and feeds 6 people with generous slices for 20-22€ so $25.
