Hay /ck/. I have been dating this girl for the past 3 months and god damn things have been great. Never been happier in my life. The funny thing about her is that she is Filipino but she has a fish allergy. she told me it kinda sucks because a lot of Filipino food has some kind of seafood in it, plus she really just wants to know what fish tastes like.

So is there some kind of fish substitute out there that I can buy and or make for someone with a seafood allergy? it has to have that fishy flavor and I have to be able to use it as an ingredient as it would be cool to have the "impossible fish fillet" but it would be cooler if it was like the "impossible fish adobo" or "impossible shrimp scampi".

Idk about fin fish, but there are mushrooms that taste a lot like scallops. https://www.theedgyveg.com/2020/08/27/vegan-scallops/

is she allergic to all kinds of fish (ex. whitefish/oily/freshwater/farmed) or is it to something like tuna fear? You should get the specifics down before you completely rule out fish.

If you wanted to re-create the experience of whitefish, maybe take some especially lean canned chicken with a little olive oil and fish seasoning (ex mirin/sake)? It's going to be tough to make it really like fish is though, since the flavor is created by the unique balance of minerals in fish- compared to meat, for example, you'll have a lot less iron and a lot more stuff like selenium and copper, even calcium in some cases.

Plenty of fish in the sea. Just get another one that works.
