My uncle won't fly in from California and both of my cousins have babies so the family won't come over for dinner
This was supposed to be the first year where I run the whole show. I was gonna do:

I don't understand what the big deal is. My husband and our kids make just the 4 of us, a small family. We live far away from our families of origin, and it is very rare that someone visits us for Thanksgiving. Yet every year, I make a full 20-plus-lb turkey with all the fixings and all of the sides and everything homemade to go along with it. My kids love it so much. And then we have lots of leftovers, which makes life easier the next week, because I don't have to cook. Or I refashion the leftovers into pasties or something, so it is only dough that I need to make extra for a meal. Just cook your feast, anon. My extended family have all drifted away from each other so it's just down to my siblings and their families and our parents. But most of them live close enough that mid summer after most of us were tested we decided to all hang out together as a social group while having to distance from others.
