I need your help anons. I'm having a girl I've been chatting with come over Friday evening. I'm thinking we watch Trick R Treat and eat candy and shit. Probably make some popcorn from scratch. What I ask from you is what are some kitchen and fridge essentials I can stock up on so I dont give away the fact I've only eaten a can of sardines the past three days and only drank liquor and coffee?

>kitchen and fridge essentials

def some sparkling water, probably flavorless and also a mild inoffensive flavor, like blackberry citrus

get some cheese, bitches get WET over cheese

just get a $15 of red wine and if she asks about the price tell her it was $40

for food you want something heavy, so she has more trouble leaving, maybe something like a chiliburger and fries with mayoketchup

girls like red wine usually, makes them feel sexy, though I personally prefer white. iunno, what goes with that, red-sauce pasta maybe with chicken? and don't overdo the serving of pasta if you do, rookie mistake. I'd rib you about being a low-effort alky still trying to get laid (in a spiking pandemic, no less) but I've been plenty sloppier and still had it go well enough, women see what they want to see, just make sure to have clean sheets and a made bed when they come over. some kinda visually-appealing winebottle label probably curries some favor.

saw this coming, but in my zip code it's like a 9% positivity rate and all the neighboring ones are 15-20+. That shit is bad, people are dying. Maybe you live out in bumfuck wyoming but if he's anywhere like the high-population-density places people go to actually meet active young people to lay, I do think of it as genuinely irresponsible.

I'm thinking of this chicken, broccoli, olive, feta, garlic dish over some ziti or linguini. I'm so nervous and it's making me realize how much of a chump I am. I'm renting a room in an acquaintances house but hes straight blue collar. Hell I don't even know what to wear.

Besides that...I was also thinking to pick up a couple pumpkins to carve and we can roast the seeds too. I think the plan is she will bake and I'll cook. Then again, she might just be looking for some fug and I hate that. I'm not just some piece of meat guys.

Budget? You can get a rioja reserva or if you have a bit more gran reserva so your wine will be at least five years old but you can say "yeah it was just $20." Food get some prosciutto or salami, a couple cheeses, olives, a crusty baguette. Sophisticated without being tryhard since you just cut it it up and plate it nice and don't break the bank. Good luck anon I hope you get your willy waxed

sure sounds like a fine enough baseline, something mediterranean-ish. but don't worry so much! there's some reassuring to be had in that I really don't think a girl would keep up a rapport with you AND agree to meet in person (these days of all days) without some kind of positive regard for you, if she was that on the fence you wouldn't have gotten this far already. Though I can unironically relate to the not-wanting-to-be-fuckmeat feeling. Though it's as good a foot in the door as any, I find that once the physical-intimacy is out of the way a lot of anxieties are quelled and people can be a bit more themselves, pillowtalk is a different experience, now that expectations are out of the way. I lived with (sloppy-ass I-have-to-make-excuses-for-their-bullshit) roommates while dating very actively too. I don't know how old you are but plenty of girls seemed understanding of it. As for clothes, you don't have any outfit you could throw together that just makes you feel at-ease-and-somewhat-together?

"a crusty baguette" makes me think of how recently I was made lunch by a resident whose apartment I was working in, she spread marscapone on a thin slice of toasty bread with chicken strips on a salad base (with vinaigrette, pickled onions, greek olives, crumbled feta) and I'd never had it anywhere but tiramisu before. It worked just like buttered bread but felt fancier, I'm (not exaggerating) 95% sure she wanted to fug, I didn't indulge her in it, but it was a pleasant new experience and felt like just the kind of schmancy-yet-not-actually-prohibitively-extravagant touch that just seems to tickle a girls' fancy.

I've been on the poor college student grind and packed on some weight so I basically only wear black cotton tees, jeans, neutral sneakers, accompanied with a hoodie. If not that, its causal dress shoes, jeans, and some plaid and or flannel button downs.

>inb4 it's been two years since I've gotten laid. I was broken for a while so that bit is quite nerve wracking but what ever.

I think I'm going with my chicken dish. Still need to clean up the fridge and bring in the essentials. Espresso martinis are easy enough. Buy some trulys and pumpkin beers I suppose. Get some fresh herbs in the fridge too. That reminds me, I need to decorate my room with some plants and a wall piece.

can relate a bit, I honestly want to throw away 2/3rds of the clothes I own, all either in tatters or from a very different mode of life. Spent the past good while trying to get my apartment together similarly but I want a new wardrobe most of all, it's just easy to deprioritize and I don't necessarily know how to go about getting one. Obviously don't wear a hoodie here though.
But it sounds like you've got a decent enough idea of what you're doing. No clue how to use an >inb4, haw haw haw, but other than that, Godspeed. I've been in "A Rebuilding Season" myself so to speak, so go swing for the fences for the both of us.

It's all about how you phrase it. Can go effortlessly cool "let me grab some stuff from my fridge for a a snack" but I guess depending on the context it could be tryhard (Ive always lived in big cities so women are accustomed to food from specialty food stores). Maybe a simple tapas type dish.

It is very grounding to known you are dealing with a similar change. I've been in this place for a month but I came with absolutely nothing. For instance, I just got a twin bed over last week. My room consists of a desk, and entertainment table, a lamp, two chairs, and my bed. I dont even have a dresser yet. God if only she knew how unprepared I am in life right now. By the way, I'm 27. I started college late and have been on my own since 21. Three of those years with an ex. The other 3ish I was working and commuting for school but moved on campus last year when I transferred and am renting a room now. Tough bachelor life. I'll do it for you anon. I appreciate you.

oh we've got a kinda funny history, and we've got loose plans to see each other next week. Actually met on tinder about a year ago for just a basic hookup, kept in touch a little but things fell off the way they do. Since then though she'd moved into a building at the property management company I work for, and I'm now living just a block away. One day I'm just filling out a work order in any-old-bathroom while the resident isn't home, hear someone come in the front door and announce myself like "Maintenance!" and I hear an "Oh. Hey.". But we'd had a good enough chemistry, mutual enough positive-regard, left things on a nice-enough note, it was a pleasant surprise. Been chatting here and there since but for a number of reasons have been kinda dancing around the sexual tension of it all. Kinda glad I haven't been sexually engaging her though seeing as a pipe burst in her ceiling and it took me a few days making her place alright, might have been very awkward otherwise but instead she was good engaging company for the duration and I got some good meals out of it.

Hey right-on, brudder, sure I'm running out of characters in this post but, boy if you only knew what a similar boat. Newly-minted 26 and finally got a (HUMBLE) place of my own, affordable with no roommates, but I feel like being in school (implicitly in-transition and on an upward-trajectory) buys you a lot of understanding. We'll make it through, thanks for sharing some time, oddly meant a lot.

Who gives a fuck what women think? They're literally not worth the trouble. All they care about is looks, social status, and money. You're better off adopting a dog for a companion. You'd never have to worry about your dog cheating on your, aborting your child, or throwing a temper tantrum because you're not voting for Biden. The only thing women are good for are their holes and birthing you children, but there's too much baggage that comes with their pussy, and they refuse to have families now too. Women are just not worth it anymore. Simple as.
