I always wait for when they go on sale, have to pay attention to store advertisements though. Sometimes as low as $3.99/lb frozen, I usually buy a few pounds and stick them in my freezer and use over a few months when that cheap. Landlocked state also.

I don't know where you came up with that idea, it is interesting. We frequently eat shrimp as a main course in my house. It is a common protein for a main dish here. Maybe try making this, it's a great main dish and very simple. The recipe doesn't look remarkable, but it's surprisingly delicious.
