not him, but with a dishwasher you are placed on standby
the dishes can't be used until it's finished and even the best dishwashers still leave a small amount of water, so you will likely need to dry them anyways
now in practice, you usually don't need your dishes right away, because your dishwasher only contains, let's say, half of the actual number of dishes
but still, there is something to be said about having the kitchen reset after every meal
and you can, if you wish, own fewer dishes. helpful if you move a lot.
so there's the take, and it actually has some reason to it

As someone who had to spend half a day on the weekend buying a new dishwasher and installing it, I'm not sure dishwashers are actually saving us time, as a society. It's the best part of my weekend, but instead I was lying on the kitchen floor (which is clean and mopped, but still gross purely on principal). I really wondered if maybe I should just start doing dishes by hand again. And then I had to call to have the old one taken away, so I was sitting by the phone all day.

If you do something like >>14904626, you could actually bust through a load fast. No having to drain the sink between washes, for single sinks. For double sinks, not as big an issue. Sinks don't feel clean to me, even if I have recently cleaned it. Washing bins are in my future, I'm thinking.

When i was 17 my dad bought a house and my family moved from a small shitty house we rented. I have 3 brothers so it was 6 of us in total and doing the dishes fucken sucked. Our new place had a dish washer but the dishes would always come out dirty after using it so my mom just made us hand wash the dishes instead.
